An MP4 is a video file, but most of the time you only want what's in it: the audio. This tool takes the MP4, pulls out the audio track, and re-encodes it as a standard MP3. The video part is dropped entirely, so what you download is a clean audio file — no picture, much smaller, and playable on literally any phone, car stereo, or media player. A three-minute music video that was 40 MB comes out as an MP3 of a few megabytes.

The conversion happens on our servers using FFmpeg, the same engine professional tools rely on for audio and video. You upload the MP4, it goes into a processing queue, the audio is extracted and encoded, and the finished MP3 is ready to download. Your uploaded file is removed from the server automatically after processing — it isn't kept or shared.

About the file size limit

This converter accepts MP4 files up to 50 MB. That covers most short-to-medium clips — songs, single talks, interview segments — comfortably. A 50 MB cap keeps uploads fast and reliable; very large video files are better trimmed first, since you usually only need a portion of the audio anyway. If your MP4 is mostly video at high resolution, remember it's the audio you're keeping, so even a large-looking video often holds only a modest amount of audio.

Output quality

The MP3 you get is only ever as good as the audio inside the original MP4 — extracting it can't add detail that wasn't recorded. That said, the encoder is set to a quality that preserves what's there cleanly, so a well-recorded talk or track comes out sounding the way it should. Spoken-word content like lectures and podcasts compresses especially well to MP3, giving you a small file with no audible loss for that kind of material.
